The Village of Tide Head is offering a Summer Youth Program for children 5 to 12 beginning July 5, 2021.  A variety of sports and activities will be offered daily from 8:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.  You may register your child by phone or in person at the Village Office (789-6550) during office hours before Friday July 2nd, 2021.


Public work laborer

  • General Municipal Maintenance of Streets, Parks, Storm Sewer, Municipal Buildings and other
  • Operation and Maintenance of the Municipal Water and Sewerage System
  • Operation and Maintenance of Equipment
  • Knowledge of GIS, mechanics and carpentry is an asset
  • Requires a valid driver’s license
  • Grade 12 education or equivalent is required
  • Must be bilingual (spoken)
  • 40 Hours per week (Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when required)

This year’s Spring Clean-up will take place May 25, 26 & 27.  Leaves & yard waste must be placed in clear plastic bags or preferably paper bags.  Branches and boards must be tied in bundles no longer than 4′ in length. Propane tanks, gas cylinders, paint cans, construction waste will not be picked up.  Propane tanks or gas cylinders must be brought to the Restigouche Solid Waste transfer station. Tires must be brought to your tire dealer and paint cans at Marina Bottle Exchange on Boom Lane in Atholville.  You must dispose of construction waste at your own expense at the transfer station. A fee of $40.00 will be charged to pick up refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners for the cost of removing the refrigerant.   Please call the municipal office (789-6550) to make arrangements to have these items collected.

Note that all items for spring clean up must be place by the curb the latest Thursday evening May 27th. The maintenance crew will be going around the Village only once for the last collection Friday May 28th.  Items placed by the curb Friday will not be picked up and will have to be disposed at the owners expense.

Rink Building Closure

Since the Province is moving to orange phase as of midnight tonight the rink building will be closed until our region is back in the yellow phase.  The ice surface will still be maintained for anyone to use.  We ask to please wear a mask and to please stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms or are required to self isolate. Stay safe and healthy 🙂

Rink Season 2020/2021

The rink will be opening for the season this Friday December 18th. We have new protocols in place due to COVID and are asking for everyone’s cooperation in order to be able to keep the building open for everyone to enjoy. We are asking to please not use the facility if you are experiencing any COVID symptoms, have been outside the Province, have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID or have been told by public health that you may have been exposed.  Below are the new rules for the usage of the building.

  • Masks are mandatory in the building.
  • Sanitize your hands when entering the building.
  • Sign in with Rémi for our records in the event it is required from the Department of Health.
  • Physical distancing of one meter must be respected. If you are eating or drinking you must be seated with a two meter physical distance.
  • A maximum of 6 people per changing room is allowed, with the exception of members of the same family “bubble”.
  • No loitering allowed. The main usage for the building is to put skates on and off and to warm up.
  • In the event our Zone is in orange or red phase, the recreation center will be closed.

Garbage normally collected on Friday December 25, 2020 will be collected on Monday December 21, 2020.

Recyclables normally collected on Friday January 1st will be collected Monday January 4, 2021

Collection will begin very early in the morning for both of those days.

Please note your garbage / recyclables will not be collected if they are not placed in a proper container.

Residents are allowed 2 containers for garbage and 2 for recycling per dwelling unit.

The container must be on wheels of any color other than blue for garbage and blue for recyclables, compatible to the lifting arm of the refuse truck with a maximum capacity of 360 litres (95 gallons) and weight not exceeding 250 pounds when full.

Recycling on hold

Due to the step back of the COVID-19 Recovery plan,  the start of RECYCLING that was due to start on June 8th has been delayed. Once we return to the Yellow Phase, we will be able to provide a new start-up date. The health and safety of our population is of utmost importance.
